Should I should the bus or taxi when arriving at the Bangkok International Airport?

By Mega Bkk

Should I should the bus or taxi when arriving at the New Bangkok International Airport? The airport is located in Samut Prakan Province, about 25 km east of Bangkok. Are the taxi drivers reliable? Do they rip you off if you are new to the area?

Is the Pope a Catholic.Get the bus. It’s cheap and gives you a feel of
    the country.

Taxis are safe and cheap and on a meter– so it is not likely that you will be cheated. Buses go to the airport regularly too and if you do not have much luggage, they would be fine. But a taxi will take you directly to your door, find a luggage cart and load it for you.

Try and share a taxi with other passengers that where on the plane ,dont be shy ,just ask before you land.great country to visit

Take a taxi and just be sure they use the meter…most at the airport do and it’s no problem. Just go outside and grab one leaving somebody off They usually want a fare back in town.

  5. Thai International has a bus service that runs 24/7 between the new international airport and downtown hotels. Is an alternative if you do not want to use a taxi. If you elect to do so be sure they use the meter.

Have used the bus and taxis to and from the airport. Both are reliable. If you’re alone the bus is cheaper but it depends where you want to go.

The bus is fine and reliable. A lot of taxi drivers can’t read so might have problems with the address you are going to.

Seem to be a mixed opinion to your question here.
Yes there is a bus. But really – it depends on where you are going. Bus is cheaper but it will likely NOT take you directly to your destinaton and you might not like the experience. Taxi is better and not expensive at all and they will take you to the door of your hotel. Most (95%) of all taxi KNOW hotels very well – that is their livelihood. Make sure they put on the meter and if you want them to go the toll way (recommended) then you pay for the toll – which is miniscule anyway)

The new airport might be in Samut Prakan Province, about 25 km east of Bangkok but it is less than an hour – usually 35 – 45 minutes of Bagnkok central – by toll way.

Use the taxi, it’s more convenience and not expensive (comparable to London, New York — Tokyo.) It’s air con. The bus is too fussy and if you have luggages, it’s not practical.

I don’t know which hotel you are staying in. Bcos there’s Airport Express Buses which go to many places and hotels only cost you 150 thai baht per person. You may check the link below to check the route that those buses are going.

Taxis are safe and cheap…the airport express is bus is only a few dollars and will drop you near your hotel..which you can book in the arrival hall..They won’t rip you off…Not like I’ve experienced in NYC.

Well never flown into the new airport only the old one.

I would say if you have just flown in you want to get to your hotel and relax for abit a bus ride really isnt the ideal preperation for this. TRY and get a metered taxi from the airport to your hotel taking the toll road( not what its called i know but others will correct me).

Please remember to tip the driver too. tip metered drivers more then unmetered.

If you cannot get a metered taki barter a good price. No idea what a good price would be from the new airport but im sure others will – get a upto date guide book im sure it will tell you (like lonley planet).

Talking about unmetered taxis, there normally on average 80% less thena unmetered one. Althougn the unmetered ones are cheap make sure you give a big tip to the metered ones

  13. I used a taxi when i went to bangkok, they are a bit wild but its a quicker.
